The purpose of this site is to provide professional development opportunities for elementary science educators to enhance science content knowledge and instruction through the use of video-on-demand and interactive collaboration with other educators, thus integrating technology with the district professional development process. The videos we will be using are provided to the public free of charge at Learner.org and made possible by a grant from the Annenburg Foundation and the UT Dana Center in Austin, TX. These professional development programs, designed for teachers, pair master science teachers with scientists, combining accurate science content with effective teaching practices implemented in classroom settings. According to the Texas STaR charts for campuses in our district, professional development for integrating technology is our weakest area. How might integrating technology for professional development of educators impact integration of technology on campuses?
